Rachel Arnold is a part-time Clinical Dental Tutor at the School of Dentistry in the Institute of Clinical Sciences, responsible for one-to-one teaching of dental students assessing patients attending for emergency treatment in the Primary Care Department.

Outside the School she is a General Dental Practitioner in Moseley.

Rachel is a regular presenter of courses run by Postgraduate Deaneries around the country.

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education for Health Professionals, University of Birmingham (2008).
  • BDS, University of Birmingham (1984).

Biography

Rachel qualified in Dentistry from the University of Birmingham in 1984, and has worked as a GDP in Birmingham since then.

She was appointed part-time clinical assistant at the Dental Hospital in 1993, and became interested in teaching through her contact with students in the department of Oral Surgery.

She was appointed part-time clinical dental tutor at the School of Dentistry in 2000. As one of the heads of firm she was responsible for reporting on the progress of year 4 and she assisted in the development of the 4th year OSCE. Rachel also sits on the Curriculum Development Committee.
