As an Academic Practitioner Navneet has been working with colleagues to develop and deliver the Professional pharmacist sessions as part of the Professional Pharmacy module.  She is also involved with the development and teaching of small group teaching (SGT) sessions.

Navneet also coordinates the hospital placements for the pharmacy students which involves organising placement activities, developing placement workbooks and assessing student reflections.

Biography

Navneet gained an MPharm degree from Cardiff University in 2007 and completed her pre-registration training at Sandwell and West Birmingham Trust Hospital (SWBH).   After registration, Navneet continued to work at SWBH as a basic grade pharmacist, and in 2011 she gained her Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy at Keele University.  In 2013 Navneet became a Deputy Pre-registration Pharmacist Tutor which included training program development, assessment marking, providing feedback and general support.  Since 2015 Navneet has been a Keele Diploma Tutor for SWBH which involves assessment marking, providing feedback and supervising ward visits.  Navneet joined the Pharmacy Programme in 2014 as an Academic Practitioner and will be using her hospital experience by linking learning to professional practice.

Teaching

Navneet has been involved in delivering teaching for pre-registration pharmacists as part of her previous role as a Deputy Preregistration Tutor and this continues as part of her current role as a Keele Diploma Tutor.  Her teaching role has also extended to other healthcare professionals such as nurses and medical students as part of Sandwell and West Birmingham Trust in-house education sessions on safe administration of medicines.  

Other activities

Navneet continues to develop her clinical experience as a Pharmacist on the Emergency Admissions Unit at SWBH.  She also attends training courses and sessions and undertakes self-directed learning to maintain continuing professional development.
