Dr. Farrukh Hafeez is leading Mechanical engineering as Programme Director at University of Birmingham’s Dubai campus. Farrukh is a keen researcher and have produced numerous high impact journal articles, peer reviewed conference papers and a book chapter. Farrukh is a dynamic academician with industrial experience. While working in different parts of the world, Farrukh actively looked for opportunities to diversify his academic portfolio as well as network, which resulted in interdisciplinary research outputs.

Farrukh is an enthusiastic researcher with a diverse skill set consisting of experimental, analytical and computational techniques, which complement very well with his interest in mechanics and manufacturing of advanced materials. Farrukh is registered as a chartered engineer (CEng) with Engineering Council UK, fellow of Higher Education Academy UK and member of Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

Farrukh did PhD in mechanical engineering at the University of Manchester and received M.Sc degree with distinction from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). Farrukh is a dedicated and driven professional with international academic as well as industrial experience. He was working for a university for a few years in United Arab Emirates before joining University of Birmingham. Prior to moving to United Arab Emirates he worked for a global consultancy firm at their office in Manchester.
