Emma joined the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues as a Research Associate, working with the Step Up to Serve campaign in London. Previous to this role, Emma worked for the youth empowerment charity and Step Up To Serve member Free The Children, where she was responsible for creating educational resources and content for their new website, as well as writing articles, blogs and scripts for the charity and their event ‘We Day’. Emma has also been involved in conducting research with teachers and supporting the monitoring and evaluation of Free The Children’s educational programme, ‘We Act’.

Her background is in research, having formerly worked for think tank Credos. At Credos, Emma led a number of research studies focusing on young people. These involved using qualitative and quantitative methodologies, writing literature reviews and producing reports. Her published reports include a project understanding the impact on young women’s body image of airbrushed imagery in advertising.
