I am a Teaching Fellow in the Department of English Language and Linguistics at the University of Birmingham. I teach a range of modules across the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

  • Certificate in Learning and Teaching in HE, Aston University, 2013.


Before I joined the Department of English Language and Linguistics, I taught Linguistics and German at Manchester Metropolitan University, Aston University and Lancaster University. I also managed and co-lead various research projects at Aston University, Warwick Business School, UCAS and Birmingham City University in education research, impact evaluation, knowledge management and quality assurance.


I teach and a number of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the School of English, Drama, American and Canadian Studies, including:

  • Language, Gender & Identity (MA)
  • Describing Language (Grammar) (MA)
  • Syllabus and Materials Design (MA)
  • Sounds, words, and structures (BA)


As research fellow, I am part of a Leverhulme Foundation funded project to evaluate the causal impact of Tech Accelerators on Startups at City-REDI, Birmingham Business School.
