I am a University of Birmingham graduate, having studied Psychology at undergraduate level before completing a Master’s degree in Software Development at Coventry University. Before returning to Birmingham to work in e-learning I spent ten years in industry as a software developer, specialising in data-driven web systems for clients such as Ericsson, Electronic Arts, BP and Whirlpool.
In addition to the Collaborative Teaching Laboratory I have managed several large projects at the University, including the rollout of Canvas and Online Marking in CoSS, and leading on the development of the University’s new Professional Development Gateway for Teaching and Learning. I recently delivering a live webinar for the Time Higher Educational Supplement on online marking and have presented at a number of national and international conferences on various Educational Technology topics. I will be presenting a paper on the CTL project at the HEA STEM conference in 2018.
