Tim Magee is a research associate in the school of mathematics, specializing in cluster varieties. He is a part of the Geometry and Mathematical Physics Group here at the University of Birmingham.

  • PhD in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin (2017)
  • BSc in Physics from The College of New Jersey (2009)

Tim Magee completed his PhD in 2017 at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Texas at Austin, studying  under Sean Keel. After graduating, he spent a year as a postdoctoral researcher at the Instituto de Matemáticas de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Unidad Oaxaca, where he worked with Alfredo Nájera Chávez. He is now a research associate at the University of Birmingham, working with Marta Mazzocco.

Tim Magee studies mirror symmetry for cluster varieties and its applications to representation theory.
