Kawa is a Research Fellow in School of Mathematics. He obtained PhD in Applied Mathematics from the School of Mathematics, University of Birmingham in 2015. His PhD focussed on numerical modelling acoustic microbubble dynamics using boundary integral method (BIM) under supervision Dr Qianxi Wang. He has published 5 research papers in scientific journals in this field.

Kawa qualified with BSc and MSc in Mathematics from Salahaddin University, Kurdistan Region (Iraq) in 2003-2007. He employed at the same university as assistant lecturer for three years. He then obtained a PhD in Applied mathematics in 2015 under the supervision of Dr Qianxi Wang. He again became a lecturer at Salahaddin University for three years.

Kawa joined the School of Mathematics, University of Birmingham in March 2018 as a Research Fellow and is currently researching cavitation around ultrasonic dental scalers as part of an EPSRC grant between the Schools of Dentistry and Mathematics.
