Dr Nozari is a Knowledge Exchange Research Fellow in ATETA Project conducting research at the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Following BSc and MSc degrees in Aerospace Engineering (2009 and 2012) he qualified for a PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2017. Since 2018, under ATETA Project he has been offering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in West Midlands with technical support and consultancy towards decarbonising their energy technologies. In this context, he has successfully led and delivered more than 20 projects mainly focused on renewable fuels and hydrogen technologies.

Also, as a research fellow in Vehicle Technology Research Centre he has been conducting experimental and analytical research in Professor Thanos Tsolakis’ group on thermochemical energy recovery and application of hydrogen, ammonia and biofuels for onboard energy generation.

Postgraduate supervision

Dr Nozari has been supervising MEng and BEng Final Year Projects and supporting PhD candidates in Mechanical Engineering Department with their research.

  • Developing low-carbon mechanisms for production and utilisation of hydrogen
  • Ammonia and urea applications as energy carriers and hydrogen vectors
  • Energy from waste
  • Biomass and waste treatment technologies
  • Thermochemical exhaust energy recovery
  • Off-grid energy/heat generation and utilisation
  • Exhaust aftertreatment technologies
