Biography

Mohammad Behroozi joined the Vehicle Dynamic Lab (VDL) at School of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Birmingham, in 2009 as doctoral researcher and involved in 3-year MAA’s Aerospace Technology Exploitation Programme (ATEP) which designed as a programme to fit the UK aerospace industry's requirements and funded by European Union. His main research area was on Finite Element Analysis of aircraft tyre and characterisation regularly provided input to validate the models on existing and new tyres in collaboration with Dunlop Aircraft Tyres Ltd. (DATL) and Airbus. His PhD work was awarded the JA Overton Memorial Prize for the best thesis of the year in 2014.

He continued tyre research as Postdoc Research Associate in 2012 within the same school on Eco-RR Tyres (Low Rolling Resistance tyres) and impacts in tyre F&M generation. The innovation project, funded by Technology Strategy Board (TSB) and named Low Carbon Emission Variable Rolling Resistance Wheel, was carried out aiming at developing an active tyre inflation mechanism to obtain controlled tyre rolling resistance according to different tyre working conditions such as cruising with low rolling resistance for fuel economy, steering and traction at limit behaviour for assisting the vehicle manoeuvre and safety.

Mohammad joined TNO Automotive in 2012 in Eindhoven, Netherlands and worked as research scientist within Delft Tyre group for tyre F&M characterization and smart tyre development. He then continued his career in Pratt & Miller Engineering, a GM affiliated company for racing, from 2013 as senior technical specialist with focus on tyre testing, modelling, simulation and application development. He is currently working within the vehicle dynamics and load prediction department in General Motors as senior vehicle dynamicist.

Dr. Behroozi is instructing Finite Element Tyre Modelling session for the Tyre Mathematical Modelling course/workshop at Tire Technology Conference in Germany since 2014. He is also giving consultation to tyre and automotive OEM as well as suppliers and collaborates in research projects with universities and research institutes. He has been also invited as editor and reviewer to various tyre and vehicle dynamics specialty journals and conferences.
