ESHRE 2021: Conventional and modern markers of endometrial receptivity
The transcriptomic profile of endometrial receptivity in recurrent miscarriage
Laurentiu is a gynaecologist and researcher with interest in fertility, early pregnancy and miscarriage. He is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and he has undertaken a Masters in Genomic Medicine prior to embarking on the current PhD programme, under the supervision of Professor Arri Coomarasamy, where Laurentiu is planning to develop a test for endometrial receptivity in collaboration with Tommy's National Centre for Miscarriage Research.
As part of his PhD, Laurentiu is the chief investigator for a multicentre cohort study based on endometrial biopsies obtained from women who suffered unexplained recurrent miscarriages. Various OMICS techniques are being applied to the endometrial samples to identify particular molecular signatures (transcriptomics and metabolomics) linked with higher order miscarriages and with suffering another miscarriage or live birth in the subsequent pregnancies.
Laurentiu has extensive experience in secondary research having undergone Cochrane training which led to the publication of multiple systematic reviews and meta-analyses in the field of human reproduction.
