Argyro Papadopoulou graduated with honors from the Medical School of the University of Athens, Greece. In 2018, she joined the Institute of Metabolism and Systems Research at the University of Birmingham and is currently working towards a PhD. The title of her PhD thesis is "Doses and routes of administration for uterotonic agents to prevent postpartum haemorrhage". Her PhD is supervised by Professor Arri Coomarasamy and Professor Ioannis D Gallos and is funded through the Tommy's National Centre for Miscarriage Research.

Biography

Argyro is physician who aims to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She completed her MBChB at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. After graduating she moved to the West Midlands to gain work experience at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. In 2018, Argyro started working as a researcher at the Institute of Metabolism and Systems Research at the University of Birmingham.

Research

Argyro’s research focuses on the prevention and treatment of postpartum haemorrhage, which remains the leading cause of maternal mortality worldwide. She is also interest in global maternal health and early pregnancy.
