Dr Alexander Zhigalov is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Systems Modelling and Quantitative Biomedicine, led by Professor John Terry.

Dr Zhigalov has extensive training in the field of cognitive neuroscience, computer science and brain imaging. His main expertise is in the development of methods for neuroimaging data, particularly, to help understanding the functional role of neuronal oscillations and scale-free brain dynamics.

Biography

Dr Alexander Zhigalov completed MSc degree in Telecommunications and Applied Math at Vyatka State University, and accomplished a PhD on closed-loop brain stimulation at Moscow State University. He subsequently worked at the University of Helsinki and University of Birmingham, before taking up the post of SMQB Centre Fellow at the Institute of Metabolism and Systems Research.
