Dr Charlotte Flavell is a post-doctoral research fellow in the Memory Persistence Lab. She is chiefly interested in the molecular mechanisms associated with memory reconsolidation and the ways that this can be applied to maladaptive memories, such as those associated with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and addiction.

Charlotte completed her PhD at the University of Bristol under the supervision of Professor Richard Apps and Professor Bridget Lumb. She subsequently took up a post-doctoral research position in the Memory Persistence Lab at the University of Birmingham, where she currently investigates memory mechanisms of reconsolidation. Charlotte also spent an enjoyable 18 months working in Australia at the Queensland Brain Institute (University of Queensland, Brisbane) with Dr Tim Bredy.
