Patrick Hall is a social care policy researcher with over a decade of experience in the sector with a background in local government. Before joining the ESRC Sustainable Care team he contributed to the European Commission’s 2018 peer review of Germany’s latest long-term care reforms.

He is a former Fellow of the King’s Fund, where he co-authored two key publications on social care for older people. Before the King’s Fund, he worked in policy development for The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE), working with the Department of Health and Social Care, local authorities and NHS organisations on the implementation of the Care Act 2014.

Biography

Patrick Hall is a Research Fellow on the ESRC Sustainable Care Programme. Before joining the University of Birmingham, he recently contributed to the European Commission’s 2018 peer review of Germany’s latest long-term care reforms.

He is a former Fellow of the King’s Fund, where he co-authored two key publications on Social Care for Older People.

Before the King’s Fund, Patrick led policy development for SCIE, working with the Department of Health and Social Care, local authorities and NHS organisations on the implementation of the Care Act 2014. Patrick has provided comment for the BBC, the Times, the Guardian and numerous care industry publications.
