What visa do I need for a course lasting 6 months or more?
It is not possible to study for longer than 6 months on a short-term study visa. If you are coming to the UK as an international student for longer than 6 months you may be able to apply for a Student visa if you can prove your English language ability, if you can demonstrate you have enough funds to support yourself and you are able to meet the other entry requirements under the points-based system.
