Why do I require a TV licence...
If you do any of the above without a valid licence, you risk prosecution and a maximum penalty of up to £1,000, plus any legal costs and/or compensation you may be ordered to pay. You will also still have to buy a TV Licence if you need one.
For up-to-date cost information and details on the many ways you can pay, please visit the TV Licensing website www.tvlicensing.co.uk/info
Don’t forget the student refund
If you’re leaving your halls or rented accommodation and moving back home for the summer, there’s a good chance you won’t need your TV Licence if there’s one at home. If there are three full calendar months before your licence expires, you can get a refund for the unused quarter of your licence.
If you think you don’t need a tv license, you can find out more information and let TV licensing know by
All of the villages have their own washing and drying facilities. They run 24 hours 7 days a week and are provided by circuit laundry. This is a chargeable service costing approximately £2.60 per wash and £1.40 per tumble dry.
You will be provided with a circuit laundry card on arrival to your accommodation. This is an easy way to do your laundry as you can load the card with money and use it as and when you need to do a wash, without struggling to find the right change.
You can also use our Accommodation App to check if a machine is available or if your laundry has finished. Go to the App store or Google Play and search ‘UoB’ Accommodation’ to download.
