Tuna Mac & Cheese

A tasty treat for even the pickiest of tummies.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tin Heinz Mac & Cheese
  • 1 tin tuna
  • Salt and pepper

Method:

Layer flakes of tuna on the bottom an oven-proof dish and season with salt and pepper. Then cover the tuna with a layer of mac and cheese.

Bake in the oven at 160 degrees for 20 minutes, or until the pasta bubbles and is very hot.

This is great heated up the next day if you have extra! Just put the leftovers, covered up, in the fridge.

Chicken Salad Wrap

Make a simple Chicken salad wrap, an ideal light lunch.

Ingredients:

  • Half a cup of cooked chicken
  • 1 tortilla wrap
  • 1 large spoon of mayonnaise
  • Half a cup of salad

Method:

Mixed together the chicken, salad and mayonnaise in a bowl. Add the ingredients to your tortilla wrap and fold to make a parcel.

Slice wrap in half and serve.

 

 

Pasta Napoli

An Italian Favourite.

Ingredients:

  • Tagliatelle pasta – around 70g per person
  • ½ cup/120ml tomato passata
  • Salt and pepper
  • Tuna if you’re feeling adventurous!

Method:

Heat a pan of water on the stove, and add a sprinkle of salt. As soon as it starts to boil, add pasta and cook until al dente (around 11 minutes – check the packet).

In the meantime, heat half a cup of Gusto tomato passata in another pan until simmering and season with salt and pepper. When the pasta is cooked, drain off the water, toss in the tomato sauce and serve.

Overnight Oats and Fruit

Make this the night before for a delicious, nutritious cold breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • Porridge Pot
  • Apple or orange
  • Fruit juice

Method:

Chop an apple or orange into small cubes. Peel back the porridge pot lid halfway from the pot of oats, add your fruit pieces and cover with fruit juice. Replace lid and chill in the fridge overnight.

Alternatively, leave out the fruit, soak the oats in milk overnight, then slice your fresh fruit on top in the morning.

Honey and lemon tea

Make a simple mug of honey and lemon tea for a warming drink you can brew in minutes. This is particularly good for sore throats, or if you are feeling under the weather.

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 tsp of honey
  • 1/4 lemon, juiced
  • Slice of lemon

Method: 

Mix the honey and lemon juice in the bottom of a cup while you boil the kettle. Pour over the hot water, add the lemon slice and stir well to combine. Add another teaspoon of honey if you prefer it sweeter.

Healthy Tuna pasta

Make a simple healthy tuna pasta, the ultimate comfort food.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cups of pasta
  • 1/4 of a Tin of sweetcorn
  • 1/2 large spoon of mayonnaise
  • 1 spring onions, sliced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tin tuna in brine, drained
  • 1/4 of a cup of grated cheddar cheese

Method: 

Boil the pasta according to the packet instructions, when there are 2 minutes left, add the sweetcorn to the pasta. Drain the pasta and then add the mayonnaise, stir it through to coat the pasta. Add some salt and pepper, the spring onions, and stir everything together.  Add in the (drained) tin of tuna and stir through. Add in 3/4 of the grated cheddar and mix together.
