Your Aerospace Engineering Offer-Holder Hub

Welcome to the Aerospace Engineering Offer-Holder Hub. This page will provide you with all the information you need to make an informed decision and choose Birmingham for your undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering. This month we're focusing on transitioning to university and have asked our academics to share their thoughts on materials you can explore.

If you’d like to see what students have ended up knowing by the end of their Aerospace Engineering degree at Birmingham, this video is from 4th years who designed an electric aircraft for their group project, winning the Royal Aeronautical Society’s design competition that year:

    Student Activities

Our students are currently arranging this year's gliding event. It's a chance for them to physically experience what they have been learning about on the course, including taking control of a glider (if they wish, and the instructor allows). The feedback from previous year's has been brilliant so it's very much something we will continue in future years.

Blog - The university experience as a commuting student

"Within first year, it is always a great idea to get involved with as many societies and other commitments as possible whilst trying to keep a balance with assignments and other university work. This way your first year is a great trial of what is best for your schedule, your likes, and dislikes but also how much you want to involve yourself in activities when second and third year comes about."

"We also have flight simulation software and a wind tunnel that we are able to use in our studies. Along with the department enjoying strong links with leading companies such as Rolls-Royce and Airbus, the course also provides its students with diverse skills which is great for our future prospects and employability after graduation. The lecturers are beyond amazing- some are working with Rolls-Royce researching single crystal structures, whilst others are experts in high-performance jet engines. My own personal tutor used to work on the Cassini mission to Saturn."
