"Apart from my academic achievements, I have really enjoyed joining the Engineers Without Borders Society. I was elected as an Outreach Coordinator, and since then I have served for two years as the Vice President of Outreach for the Birmingham Chapter. During this time I have been able to deliver workshops and teach over 700 students about studying Engineering and STEM subjects at university. As a chemical engineering student ambassador I have been able to speak to even more students and parents and explain what studying chemical engineering is like at university, which has been an incredible amount of fun."

Activate your future

With a Chemical Engineering degree your opportunities are endless - just some examples of the fields our students have entered include food processing, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, energy, consultancy, teaching and patenting.

As part of the School of Chemical Engineering you will be assigned a Personal Tutor who will be assigned to you for the duration of your course, and are on hand to advise you on your career options. We also have a dedicated Industrial Tutor to offer expert advice on industrial avenues.

Our programmes are accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). Recognised by employers worldwide, accreditation means that the course meets the criteria set out by IChemE, putting students on the path to acquiring Chartered Chemical Engineer status.
