Successful completion of a Pathways to Birmingham programme can result in students receiving financial support through the Pathways to Birmingham scholarship and bursary.
Students who successfully complete a Pathways to Birmingham programme, achieve at least 75% in the Skills4Uni module and obtain the exam results required for their standard offer (rather than the Pathways to Birmingham offer), will be eligible for a Pathways to Birmingham scholarship worth £1,500 for each successful year of study at the University.
Students who successfully complete a Pathways to Birmingham programme and achieve the exam results needed for their Pathways to Birmingham offer, will be eligible for the Pathways to Birmingham bursary worth £1,000. This is awarded in the first year of study only.
The Pathways to Birmingham scholarship and bursary are funded philanthropically through DARO fundraising. Students can receive both the Pathways to Birmingham scholarship and bursary alongside other bursaries or scholarships awarded by the University, including the Pathways to Birmingham Accommodation Award. This £5,000 bursary support first year students with the cost of university accommodation at the University.
For both the Pathways to Birmingham scholarship and bursary, students and their parents need to give consent to share the details of their student finance application with the University. This is to ensure the Funding Graduation and Awards Office can access these details in order to assess eligibility (to determine whether students are UK/ EU fee payers).
To be eligible for the Pathways to Birmingham scholarship and bursary, applicants should be classified by Student Finance England and the University as UK for fees purposes. Applicants should also be deemed eligible for maintenance support by the Student Loans Company.
The University of Birmingham also offers a wide range of financial support to students, visit our Undergraduate Funding Database to find out more.
