The University of Birmingham has launched a new and exciting scheme to support Year 12 and 13 students in their progression to university and beyond. Pathways to Birmingham is an enhancement of our long-standing Post-16 schemes, including A2B and Routes to the Professions, as well as a new motivating programme, Inspired@Birmingham.
Our range of programmes within Pathways to Birmingham offer students an insight into higher education, professional career routes and support students throughout the university application process. Whilst all programmes are designed to support students in raising aspirations and preparing to study at university, each programme is unique.
Students who successfully complete a Pathways to Birmingham programme and apply to the University of Birmingham will receive special consideration from admissions tutors. If their application is successful, they will receive two offers from the University of Birmingham, the standard offer and an alternative offer. The alternative offer is at least two grades below the standard offer, as advertised in the prospectus. Students may also be eligible to receive the Pathways to Birmingham Scholarship and Bursary.
All Pathways to Birmingham programmes have the same eligibility criteria, students are required to meet this criteria to be considered for the programmes. All applications from students will require support from a teacher or A2B Coordinator.
