Courses and Training

The Exchange will provide free taster courses, short paid courses and micro-credentials, all aimed at professional development, widening participation and/or building regional skills.

Gain new skills

The University of Birmingham currently offers short courses in some of the fastest growing areas in today's economy such as coding and data analytics. Some of this activity will move to The Exchange along with free taster courses in a range of disciplines. The Entrepreneurship Centre at The Exchange will offer an Incubator and Business Growth programme for students and graduates of the University of Birmingham.

Leadership development

The Exchange will have a particular focus on supporting leaders in local communities and the private, public and third sectors. Our programmes will develop the knowledge, skills and capacities to better understand the leadership required at all levels to enable progress on complex organisational, social, political, environmental, commercial and economic challenges. The Exchange will offer a range of courses and activities through the Birmingham Leadership Institute and will be home to the University's new MBA Essentials programme.

Free courses and training

There will be a range of free courses and training available for community groups, businesses and members of the public. More information on courses and training will be made available in advance of the opening of The Exchange in September 2021.
