Selly Oak is the student village, where most of our second and third year students choose to live when they move out of Halls in first year.
Comprised of a maze of terraced houses, the vast majority of which are occupied by students, Selly really is an inclusive student community for all.

Selly Oak isn’t just student housing however, on the high street you’ll find all of the student staples including supermarkets, laundrettes and takeaways of all nationalities. There are also plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants to choose from, as well as hairdressers, chemists and stationary stores, so you don’t have to venture too far for any of your needs!

Those who know Birmingham well, will know the importance of Mr Egg- a Chinese street-food restaurant, renowned for being a student favourite- which sits on the Bristol Road, running through Selly Oak. Whatever your budget, Selly Oak provides for all, with Aldi, Tesco’s, a variety of Asian supermarkets and a new Marks & Spencer’s and Sainsbury’s superstore on a new development at the top of Selly Oak. At the top of Selly Oak you can also find a new Nando’s, a large Boots, Paperchase and plenty of other stores.
