Selly Oak is the student village where most of our second and third year students choose to live when they move out of Halls in first year.
Comprised of a maze of terraced houses, the vast majority of which are occupied by students, Selly Oak really is an inclusive student community for all. We work closely with the local community through our Community Living Hub to make sure that Selly Oak is a great place to live, work, study and socialise.

“Selly Oak is the student village, where most of our second and third year students choose to live when they move out of Halls in first year.”
Selly Oak isn’t just student housing, however. On the high street you’ll find all of the student staples including supermarkets, laundrettes and takeaways of all nationalities. There are plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants to choose from, as well as hairdressers, chemists and stationery stores, so you don’t have to venture too far for any of your needs.

“I am partial to a take-out and living in Selly Oak this year, where there are so many different dining options in such close proximity… it’s hard to resist!”
Whatever your budget, Selly Oak provides for all, with Aldi, Tesco’s, a variety of Asian supermarkets, and a Marks & Spencer’s food hall and Sainsbury’s superstore on the new Selly Oak Shopping Park development. On the same development you can also find a Nando’s, Next (including a Paperchase concession), a large Superdrug, and lots of other stores useful for your everyday essentials.
