In recent years students have studied in a number of countries including Canada, China, Denmark, France, Japan, Korea and Sweden.
The BSc Business Management with Industrial Placement is only open to Singaporean nationals and these complete two compulsory work placements as part of their programme.
Contact hours for this programme equate to 30 hours per module, with 12 modules taught in year 2 and 10 modules taught in year 3. Modules are taught in a block format over 2 weeks with students attending class for 3 hours a day over 10 days.
Morris Lin, one of the first students to enroll on the BSc Business Management with Industrial Placemen course, said:
I recently completed a Diploma in Business Management from SIM University and all along I wanted to study for a degree course. I am interested in pursuing a career in the business sector and I chose Business Management as my path towards fulfilling my goal. University of Birmingham is a prestigious university with a remarkable reputation in the world and all the while was my ideal choice.
I am grateful to both SIM and University of Birmingham for the opportunity given to students and also largely thankful to my parents who sacrificed much to give me the opportunity. It is a great privilege and tremendous learning experience for me, interacting with a group of selfless and dedicated students who care so much about their beneficiaries and believe in what they do.
I am enjoying the course especially with the delicateness and the willingness of the helpful professors who have flown half way round the world to share their knowledge with us”.
