Neurobiology of Mental Illness

Assessment: 2000 word essay – specialist area chosen by you

This module will introduce students to current concepts, theories and controversies in our understanding of the neurobiology of psychopathology, such as auditory hallucinations, language disorders, dementias, delusions, paraphillias, obsessions. You will identify an area of particular interest for independent in-depth study which will be assessed by a 2000-word essay. (submitted in mid-January). Individual supervisions will be available for students who need guidance in terms of direction and defining topics for their dissertation.
