Neurobiology of Psychological Processes

Assessment: 2000 word essay – specialist area chosen by you

This module will introduce you to current concepts, theories and controversies in our understanding of the biological basis of processes of the mind and behaviour. Building upon your core knowledge of psychology and the neurosciences, you will explore topics such as, perception, emotion, aggression, sex, sleep, learning, memory, and language. You will identify an area of particular interest for independent in-depth study which will be assessed by a 2000-word essay (submitted in early January). Individual supervisions will be available for anyone who needs guidance in terms of direction and defining topics for your essay.
