Year Three

The module is designed to facilitate students’ engagement and critical examination of a range of influences driving current healthcare practice. This will include perspectives drawn from healthcare policy, requirement for high quality care, change and change management, leadership, entrepreneurship and commissioning. It will assist in their final transition as emerging graduates to the contemporary world of healthcare practice as fully registered, autonomous practitioners. 

Delivery

Core lectures and presentations on key topics will be delivered. Students will work in small group seminars to critically develop these topics with particular reference to their individual interests where applicable. Where possible arrangements will be made for inter-professional learning with other healthcare professional groups (e.g. Nursing) based around delivery of high quality health care and service development.

Assessment

  • Written assignment – 3000 words (90% weighting)
  • Written Reflective Portfolio Entry – 750 words (10% weighting)
