Civic Engagement Dissertation

Local organisations will be hosting small groups of students to complete a piece of work for them in response to an identified organisational need. You’ll get to choose from a range of broad topics/organisations, and then work as a small group to finalise a project proposal.  These will vary in their nature, but they are likely to involve either helping design or evaluate an initiative (e.g. a resource, intervention, event), or analysing existing data.  You’ll learn about stakeholder relationships, planning projects, practical evaluation skills, and other entrepreneurial skills depending on the project.  You’ll be supported in seminars and by the local organisation.

You’ll be assessed by a project proposal (0% - but compulsory to pass), a group multi-media presentation (15%), an individual executive-style report (75%), and an individual reflective interview (10%).
