Award Description

The Eliz Challenor Scholarship Fund was established through a bequest from the late Professor Challenor, an old boy of Sir John Talbot’s School and is available for applications from students who enter the University as an ex-pupil or who are residents of Shropshire. Please note that preference will be given to ex-pupils of Sir John Talbot's School. 

Value of Award

Awards for ex-pupils of Sir John Tablbot's School are valued at £3,000 per academic year. 

Those who make a successful application under the resident of Shropshire criteria will receive £1,000 per academic year

The award will be tenable for each year of study for successful scholars subject to normal academic progression, please note that awards are not available during a year in industry or year abroad.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you must be entering the University as

a) an ex-pupil of Sir John Talbot’s School in Shropshire, or

b) a resident of Shropshire for two years immediately preceding 1st October of the year of the award, or

c) a resident of Shropshire on admission to the University

How to Apply

Ex-pupils of Sir John Talbot's School need not complete an application and will be identified and contacted during the first academic term.
