The Pathways to Birmingham (PTB) Scholarship and Bursary are the financial awards available to new undergraduates entering the University through any one of the University's PTB programmes (Access to Birmingham, Routes to the Professions, Inspired@Birmingham, Academic Enrichment Programme, National Access Summer School).
The scholarship is awarded to those who successfully complete their PTB programme including a high pass in the Skills4Uni quiz, and achieve the grades of the standard prospectus offer for their course.
The bursary is awarded to those who successfully complete their PTB programme and achieve the grades of their PTB alternative offer.
Value of Award
The scholarship is valued at £1500 per year of study and is renewable subject to the terms and conditions.
The bursary is worth £1000 as a one-off payment in the first year of study only.
These awards may be made in addition to any other grant or bursary you may receive.
Eligiblity for scholarship:
Students must sucessfully complete a Pathways to Birmingham programme (Access to Birmingham, Routes to the Professions, Inspired@Birmingham, Academic Enrichment Programme, National Access Summer School) and achieve at least 75% in the skills4uni test. Successful students will have achieved the exam results needed for their standard offer, or equivalent (rather than the Pathways to Birmingham offer). The scholarship is worth £1500 for each successful year of study.
Eligibility for bursary:
The bursary is available if you have completed all the requirements of the Pathways to Birmingham programme and achieved the exam results needed for for the alternative Pathways to Birmingham offer. This bursary is worth £1000 and is awarded in the first year of study only.
How to Apply
If you meet the criteria, you will be contacted by the University about your award in the first academic term.
