The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm that provides a wide range of financial services to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and individuals. Goldman Sachs have recently opened its second UK office in Birmingham, based at the WeWork, 55 Colmore Row led by its Engineering division.

The University of Birmingham and Goldman Sachs are collaborating to create a new corporate scholars programme for 50 Birmingham Scholar students. The partnership aims to provide Goldman Sachs Scholars with an insight into industry as well as a breadth of personal and professional support. Goldman Sachs are eager to develop a pipeline of young and diverse talent to support the growth of its new office and Engineering division in Birmingham.

University of Birmingham alumna, Brigit Simler, EMEA Head of Human Capital Management, said: “We are excited to support the University of Birmingham and the incredible work they do within the Pathways to Birmingham programme. As a firm, we are passionate about providing equal opportunities and supporting young people to reach their potential – this new partnership will allow us to work towards our shared ambition of levelling the playing field, and sparking economic growth for people and communities. As a University of Birmingham alumni myself, I am delighted to be back at a place that holds so many fond memories.”
