“I feel my BTEC prepared me mainly in two ways. Firstly I gained a good foundation of knowledge to build on in my degree. Secondly, I learnt how to write lengthy assignments. University brought many new challenges: I had to learn how to source and use references, and understand how to generate and handle useful statistics. I overcame these through perseverance, and with the support and guidance of lecturers. The best thing about studying at The University of Birmingham is that your lecturers are people at the top of their field, who are doing the most current research and writing the most current papers. It pays to study at such a highly credited university as it gives you the platform to go onto good postgraduate courses or job opportunities.”
