AimHigher UniFest

Are you interested in going to university but not really sure where to start? Then Birmingham's AimHigher UniFest is for you!

From staying in student halls of residence to attending lectures or seminars, you will experience first hand life as a university student. Our academic staff will deliver fun, informative and interactive sessions from across the wide range of subjects that you can study at Birmingham. And as you know, university life isn’t just about studying – there will be a fun-filled social programme for the evenings too!

While you are with us, you will be looked after by our student ambassadors, who are all current students at the university. They will be on hand to guide you around campus, make sure you settle in and, most importantly, answer any questions you may have on life at university.

You will gain an insight into student life and independent learning and will have your questions answered about all things ‘university’ - you may even decide on a subject you’d like to study! As more jobs require higher level qualifications, you will also learn about the transferable skills that employers will be looking for in the future. Summer schools offer a great opportunity for you to gain in confidence, independence and to make new friends.

Who can apply?

This Summer Residential is open to pupils in Year 10 at schools in the West Midlands who are part of the Aimhigher Partnership. This year’s event is taking place from 19-21 July 2017.
