Spoken-word performance from UK All-Star Poetry Slam champion Ben Norris!

Ben Norris is an actor, writer and spoken-word artist, born and raised in Nottingham, educated at the University of Birmingham, and now based in London. In 2013 he became the UK All-Stars Poetry Slam Champion, and has since performed up and down the country, from Latitude Festival to the Royal Albert Hall, on BBC Radio 3 and upstairs in many many pubs. Ben returns to Birmingham to help celebrate Book to the Future with a one-off performance on campus.

His debut pamphlet was published in 2014 and his first one man show, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Family, won the 2015 IdeasTap Underbelly Award and played to sell-out crowds throughout the Edinburgh Fringe. It is currently on a UK tour finishing with a run at London’s Southbank Centre later this autumn.

Expect frank but hilarious poems about the midlands, generational bigotry, falling in and out of love, and being a millennial - whatever the hell a millennial is - all delivered with Norris’s trademark self-deprecating wit and directness.

“A tremendous performer with genuine presence and charisma to burn” ★★★★★ (ThreeWeeks)

“Performs his sharply crafted poems with breathtaking verve and expertise” (Cheltenham Lit Fest)
