Bryoney Johnson -

In a first for Book to the Future, this exciting event will screen student films from the 2015-16 academic year.

Students were tasked with formulating a visualisation of a literary excerpt including poems, novels, and speeches; everything from 1984 to The Art of War; that would use the medium of film to critically and creatively engage with the text. The resulting short films are extremely varied and, though largely produced with inexpensive equipment by students who had never picked up a camera before, they demonstrate the impressive potential of asking students to engage in creative practice.

The screening will be followed by a Q+A with some of the student filmmakers, and Teaching Fellow, Dr Richard Langley, who designed and taught the module.
