Birmingham's What I Think With: Explore the Barber’s environs and write about other parts of the city that have personal significance.

Participants in this workshop with Jacqui Rowe in the Barber Institute will begin out on the campus, looking for and writing about characteristic and hidden images and objects, then will come back to the Barber to write about what Birmingham means to them.

Jacqui Rowe has had four pamphlets published, and a full collection, Blink, from V Press. She has read her own commissioned poems on Radio 4's Poetry Please. Co-editor of the award-winning press Flarestack Poets, she is also a tutor for the Poetry School. In 2013-2014 she was Writer in Residence at Birmingham's Barber Institute of Fine Arts, where she established and continues to deliver the creative writing programme. Having gained a place on Writing West Midlands’ Room 204 writer development programme, she returned to writing prose fiction and is currently working on a trilogy of speculative novels. She has been shortlisted in the Willesden Herald and Mslexia short story competitions.

This event is being run in collaboration with the Barber and thus will be charging a small fee for registration.
