Cliff Allen

B.Sc. Electrical Engineering, 1960

To compress 55 years into a few lines is quite impossible, but I'll try. Graduating has meant everything to me. I had a good early career, but I did not realise my full potential until I helped in building up a small electronics company (twice!) being the Technical Director in each case. Success was not difficult as the demand was huge. I enjoyed a good domestic and social life and had 2 lovely daughters. I took early retirement and sailed extensively in surely, some of the most beautiful parts of the world 18 years ago, we moved from S Wales to Cornwall, near Fowey, and my daughters and 5 granddaughters live nearby in S Devon. In 2010 I married a Thai lady, and now have a new family in Thailand. I love my wife to bits. She gave my life a whole new dimension, just when it seemed to be running out of steam. It may sound smug, but I think I'm the luckiest guy on earth. Thank you BSc.
