The Big Conversation ‘Futures’ Competition
What will the future of education look like?
What does it involve? We are looking for your futuristic ideas of what education will look like in 2026; an innovative and compelling ‘Futures’ vision that can inform the way we should design education. You can enter by writing a personal thought-piece of up to 500 words, in any style that you wish, or, get creative with an e-poster, infographic or video.
What is the Big Conversation? As a University and College we are always looking to the future. The Big Conversation is a wide-ranging discussion thinking ahead to 2026, where we are considering ways in which the University’s education and curriculum should change and develop over the next 10 years. We want to hear from you, our students, about what the future of our education could and should look like.
What’s in it for me? A £500 prize is up for grabs for the most creative and forward-thinking contribution from a student or group of students across the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
There will also be a prize of £1000 for the School that collectively demonstrates the strongest engagement with the Big Conversation. The funds will be allocated to the School reps to spend on a School activity or item.
This is your opportunity to leave a lasting legacy and help to evolve the future of education at Birmingham in years to come.
Who chooses the winners? The winners of both prizes will be selected by an expert panel comprising of academic, professional staff and the Guild of Students.
I’m in, so when’s the deadline? Submissions should be sent to the Big Conversation by 5pm on 31 March 2017. In your submission please clearly state which School you study in.
