Chief Scientific Advisor to deliver lecture

The Birmingham Energy Institute are delighted to launch its brand new distinguished lecture series, focused on energy related policy and research.

Delivering the lecture of this new series Professor John Loughhead, will share his thoughts on planning ahead to meet the growing demand for energy.

Biography 

Professor John Loughhead (OBE) is Chief Scientific Adviser to Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC). He is also Executive Director of the UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC) and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. Before joining UKERC, John was Corporate Vice-President of Technology and Intellectual Property at Alstom’s head office in Paris.

In 2014, he was also voted as one of the Top 500 Most Influential People in Britain by Debrett's and The Sunday Times. He was awarded an OBE for services to Technology in 2011.
