Synopsis
In this lecture Professor Bennett will begin by reflecting on the myriad of reasons that students give for studying Mathematics. Then, drawing on his own motives and experiences as a student, and touching on some of his subsequent collaborative work, Professor Bennett will paint a picture of Mathematics as a subject with surprising depth and scope for creativity.
Complementary alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be served at the drinks reception following the event. Alcoholic drinks will be only be served to those who are aged 18 or over.
