EPS Netball logo

This term has seen EPS Netball grow as a team with emphasis on fun matches and socials.

We really enjoyed the end of the campus league – where we had plenty of good play in the matches. We moved up a league at the start of this year and this has expectedly brought new challenges with it. Unlike last year we’ve not had the same winning streak but have played well with increasing skill and always with enthusiasm. During training and matches we’ve been able to use our new kit which included EPS logo bibs, a ball, ball pumps, whistles and a bag for the kit.

We have taken on many new members this term with the addition of the New Year Tasters. These sessions increased interest particularly from first year students who had settled into their studies and were looking for a friendly team with like-minded individuals.

This led to us increasing the number of socials we run as there was more interest than ever! These included a social to Circo and Fab – both of which were great successes. In the planning was our final social of a takeaway and film night to get everyone together and announce the new committee. Unfortunately this is yet to take place, but we are hoping to rearrange for the new academic year if possible. However, the new committee were announced on our Facebook page and we are all so excited to see what their plans are for next year.

The new EPS Mixed Netball committee are:

  • Captain: Elizabeth Ward
  • Treasurer: Joe Holbrook
  • Social Secretary: Maya Patel

Through the breaks from uni (even those that are slightly more unplanned) please feel free to message us or get information from our Facebook page if you are looking to join when we’re able to starts again. You’ll find us at ‘EPS mixed netball team, University of Birmingham’.

We wish everyone well for the rest of the academic year and look forward to getting training back up and running as soon as possible.

Much love,
Lucy
