oSTEM society logo

As we are a new society to the EPS Community we would like to introduce ourselves. oSTEM is a University society that aims to support LGBTQ+ students studying STEM subjects at the University of Birmingham. Our committee are focused on providing as many events and opportunities as possible to our members to integrate, form networks, and find out more about being out in a STEM-based workplace.

We hold weekly socials where students can relax and discuss issues relevant to being LGBTQ+ in STEM fields. We are also holding an event on 6th June where speakers from STEM fields have been invited to talk about their experiences being out in the workplace. Confirmed speakers so far include a founding member of LGBT CERN and someone from TransCode.

If you are interested in finding more about the society, or participating in our speaker event, feel free to drop us an e-mail and introduce yourself on eps-community@contacts.bham.ac.uk, we would love to hear from you!

Best wishes,

The oSTEM Committee
