Why did you apply to the University of Birmingham?

The University of Birmingham has some very notable alumni in Chemistry, such as the Nobel Prize winner Sir Norman Haworth. Moreover, I had heard from relatives that Birmingham is a highly multicultural city - which is something that I have found to be refreshingly true.
