Why did you apply to the University of Birmingham?

I chose to study in the University of Birmingham, as it is one of the 24 members of the Russell Group, so it is classified as a world-class, research-intensive university. I believe the well-resourced facilities are an excellent platform for me to experience real world problems in terms of engineering, science and research practices.

What do you think are the best points of your course?

I would definitely say the design aspect of the course is something I enjoy the most, where I am able to integrate all the different knowledge that I have learned through different modules and execute it on a more practical scale. This could be designing various production plants from something as simple as a milk factory to something as complicated as production titanium dioxide!

What’s the best thing about studying at the University of Birmingham?

The fact that I am able to enjoy various upgrades of the university from the newly opened Green Heart, and also brand new library and sports facilities which definitely give me a good balance of both academic and sport activities.

What’s your highlight of your time at the University?

The opportunity of meeting new people from different backgrounds. There are endless amounts of societies, so there will be definitely one which suits you.

What advice would you give to other international students?

The time passes really quickly, so make the most of it and take initiative to meet new people and gain cultural experience.

How do you feel you have benefitted from the experience of studying in the UK?

The experience of studying abroad has definitely made me grow as person. The fact that I am able to experience so many different cultures in this environment has definitely widened my perspective towards the world.
