It "smells like Teen Spirit": Explorations in youth mental health and popular culture
 Jon will detail both his own journey to academia, and also how this is entwined with cultural changes that have significantly impacted on the mental wellbeing of young people in the UK.\n
 Jon originally studied Psychology and Artificial Intelligence at UoB and then went on to study for a PGCE at Homerton College, Cambridge. After many adventures working overseas, he returned to Birmingham to study for a PhD in Psycholinguistics. After completing his PhD, his first post was as a lecturer at the University of Worcester, and then in 2011 he returned to UoB as an Assistant Professor.\n
 Everyone is welcome to this event, and all are invited to join Jon after the lecture for refreshments in the Lapworth Museum.\n \n
