Reflections on surviving burns: personal, professional and political
This lecture will reflect on the experience of surviving burn injuries and living with the subsequent disfigurement in British society over the last 50 years. It will reflect from a personal perspective as a burn survivor of 47 years, from a professional perspective as the founder of Changing Faces (25 years old this year) and from a political perspective in terms of burn survivors’ life prospects.
The lecture is the annual history of medicine lecture in our programme of eponymous lectures and will be followed by a reception in the Medical School Wolfson Common Room.
All are welcome to attend.
