Join POLSIS and the Centre for Democracy, Elections, Accountability and Representation (CEDAR) for a special seminar.

Jacqui Smith was elected to Parliament in 1997 as one of the 101 Labour women MPs dubbed ‘Blair’s Babes’ and went on to be the UK’s first female Home Secretary.  She’ll use her own experience in the UK and working internationally, to reflect on how women’s representation has improved in British political life, what impact it’s had and what’s still left to do.

This will be an in-person event; further details will be confirmed shortly.

Speaker:

  • Speaker: Rt Hon Jacqui Smith (former Labour Home Secretary and MP)
