Scheme background
The ESRC IAA Mentoring Impact Scheme is designed to support researchers in the social sciences with developing and planning effective impact and engagement activity by pairing them with a mentor experienced in developing impact from their research. The scheme is open to researchers at all career stages who wish to develop their impact and engagement work. Successful applicants will be awarded up to £1,000 to support an impact and/or engagement project, guided by their mentor.
Successful applicants will be matched with an experienced mentor at the University who is well-placed to support them with planning their impact and engagement activity. Each mentor/mentee pair will be expected to arrange and participate in three to four mentoring sessions during the remainder of 2022 that will be focussed around developing the mentee’s impact and engagement activity. Mentees will be expected to use their award of up to £1,000 to plan and, if appropriate, deliver an impact or engagement project (according to the ESRC’s definition of impact) over the course of the scheme.
