Universal Basic Income is positioned as a radical response to an age of deepening economic and social insecurity and for an accelerating technological revolution.

Just a few years ago, an unconditional basic income was considered a pipe dream. Today, it is widely regarded as ‘an idea whose time has come’ with intense discussions taking place across political and scientific camps. Professor Guy Standing’s lecture provides a platform for this debate with our city.

The lecture will take place 14.00-16.30 followed by Q&A and informal networking reception.

This is a free event. All events are open to all colleagues and students in the College of Social Sciences and wider University together with members of Citizen UK institutions.
